Beautiful Butterprint Pyrex!
>> Wednesday, September 1, 2010
It's been a busy summer and I haven't participated in Vintage Thingies Thursday in what feels like ages! I've missed it!
This week I wanted to share my newest Pyrex acquisitions. I've only just begun collecting vintage Pyrex so I don't have too many pieces yet, but I'm sure that won't be a problem for long! I am in love with all things turquoise and have decorated my kitchen and dining area with vintage (and vintage inspired) items in a turquoise, white and green color scheme.
My Blue Heaven dishes that I've mentioned a few times here were the very first thing I ever bought that started me on this vintage voyage. I got a giant box of the dishes for $5.
Shortly after I started collecting the Blue Heaven, I learned about Fire King (who made some of the pieces to my set) and then I started to discover the glorious world of Pyrex and all the colors and patterns- ooooooh ahhhhhhh Pyrex! So now that I am on the hunt for it constantly, my mother hunts for it for me as well!
Last week, mom arrived unexpectedly with a brown bag filled with goodies for me. Though they were tightly wrapped in newspaper, they were clearly nesting inside each other. Let me tell you, I couldn't get the paper off of them fast enough!
She found an entire set of the Butterprint Cinderella nest bowls in near mint condition (there is one small 1/4 inch metal mark on the largest bowl) for a whopping $15! And they are all for me! I couldn't be more thrilled. Unexpected gifts are the best, especially when they're of the Pyrex variety!
Happy VTT, my friends and please visit Susazanne over at the Coloradolady for more vintage finds!

That is so awesome! Mom's are great.
Love the vintage colors you have collected. The Butter print Pyrex in turquoise is such a great shade, what a good deal your Mom got. Love your kitchen and that set of dishes is awesome!
I'm not posting this week! Ugh! Had a couple of minutes to visit. Love the butterprint Pyrex. Wow what a deal your Mom found. I've never seen one bowl for $15 much less an entire set! You are blessed!!!
I could look at these pictures for hours! I'm obsessed w/pyrex, and oh these pics make my heart sing!
Charming! A smile is sure to appear on your face when eating off these fabulous dishes1
What a great color! I especially love your canister set.
You may not been collecting for long, but what you have is wonderful. Aren't Mothers wonderful!!!
Pyrex has been around for years and now it has become more popular again. You have some very nice pieces. I like the blue color as well. They make so many different colors. Some are rarer than others.
I am so jealous. I am drooling. I have a few blue heaven pieces as well as the butterprint pyrex. Not a fabulous collection like yours. If you ever get tired of them...... you know who to contact. Thanks.
Hi Tara
I love your blog. I have had some of my pyrex bowls for 50 years. I received them as wedding gifts. They are wonderful. Have a great time collecting. Your kitchen is awesome

Wow, that Pyrex is awesome. I love your canisters too!
Oh my goodness I don't think I have ever seen so much pretty Vintage blue at 1 time! I ♥ it :)
Toodles,
Renee ♥
What a terrific collection and who would know it is a relatively new collection. I love the colors and your mixing bowls from your mom are wonderful.
Enjoy them.
Hugs, Jeanne
Love your post!!! Especially the nesting bowls!!! Lucky you!!!
I have 2 small refrigerator dishes in that pattern. They are missing lids. I do believe they were my first vintage purchase when we bought our house three years ago. They match the kitchen counter that came with the house!
I wish I was able to treat myself to more vintage things more often, but the budget won't allow it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Pretty!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love your Blue.
Lovely bowls, and you are lucky to ahve the entire set at once.
Those cansiters are gorgeous. I see that Pyrex pattern every so often at the thrift store, but I never knew what it was called.
My aunt had dishes like that. When she passed away, we received some and I found out they were "My Blue Heaven." Found more at a Goodwill store and some on ebay. They are a fun pattern to have.
I bought the blue "Snowflake" oval casserole and lid for my Mom back in the 70's. She always made her favorite mashed sweet potato recipe with the toasted marshmallows on top. Now I use it for that as well as baked rice pudding and other delicious meals. It looks like new and is still easy to clean.
